The Christmas tree on Brussels' Grand-Place is a must-see during the holiday season. Located in the heart of the city, this majestic 20-meter-high tree will be illuminated during a spectacular ceremony in early December, marking the start of Les Plaisirs d'Hiver , Brussels' famous Christmas market. Each year, the tree is carefully selected and recycled in an eco-friendly manner after the holidays. The Grand-Place thus becomes a magical place where traditions, illuminations, and entertainment combine for visitors from all over the world.

The City of Brussels is organizing a collection of natural Christmas trees from January 8 to 15. The trees must be removed from their decorations and placed at the curb on each neighborhood's green waste collection day. Once collected, the trees are recycled to be turned into compost or mulch. The article also suggests eco-friendly alternatives, such as reusing the tree in the garden or making decorations from its branches.
