How is your Nordmann Christmas tree grown?

The first three months of the year are devoted, weather permitting, to cleaning the plantations. Indeed, during the Christmas period, the multiple visits to the fir trees and the cutting of the Nordmann firs generate organic waste and damage the soil a little.

This is also the time to plant young plants of 3 to 4 years that will end up in your house in a few years. As a general rule, 5 to 10 times the quantities of Christmas trees that were sold are replanted each year if the area of the farm allows it.

From spring to early summer, this is the period for maintaining fir trees.
The spaces between the trees are cleared. The future Nordmann Christmas trees are pruned to give them the conical shape you know and encourage them in their development.

Young fir trees planted at the beginning of the year are protected to avoid incidents with wildlife.
The buds of all the fir trees are checked to verify the good progress of their development. A large number of healthy buds are a sign of a beautiful Christmas tree in the months or years to come!

Summer passes with the expectation of a few storms so that the young fir plants that have been in the ground for six months now do not lack water. Insufficient humidity would cause shocks or deficiencies in their development. If this happens, most of the time the fir trees will recover from these problems in the years that follow thanks to good maintenance.

At the start of the school year, Christmas trees are labeled according to their sizes. This makes the job of the lumberjack who will cut down your Christmas tree very soon easier...

At Christmas time or almost, the mature Nordmann firs are finally cut, their feet are trimmed and they are fixed on supports made of wooden slices. They are then packed in a double protective net to avoid any external aggression during transport and are shipped as quickly as possible for home delivery.

The empty spaces left by the removal of the Nordmann Christmas trees are filled in January by the planting of new shoots and the start of a new cycle...

Sapin Belge is committed to the planet as an Eco-responsible company. This is why, for Christmas, in addition to the fir trees replanted automatically and in large numbers by the fir plantations, we will replant trees to participate in the reforestation of the Earth.
